We would like to invite you...
…for a visit of the "Kulturportal Hessen" (Hesse Cultural Portal) which is providing as an animating, contemporary and multifunctional guide to the cultural scene of Hesse. It is the intention of the July 2007 established website to inform as detailed and comprehensive about the manyfold facets of the cultural life in Hesse as possible.
The productions of the well-established are as well mentioned as the tasks of the free-scene theatres. The offers of information start with the primordial "Little Horse" ("Urpferdchen") of the "Grube Messel" ("Messel Pit"), the theatre programs of the current season, and of the rock concerts in Wiesbaden, the hr-Jazz Festival in Frankfurt or the public appearance of an Indie-Band in Giessen. An intimate reading in an antique basement vault in Fulda, or the host country´s program at Frankfurt International Book Fair are most important for the "Kulturportal", as well as the "documenta"-exhibition in Kassel, and the Bavarian comedian Karl Valentin – shown up in an exhibition and retrospective in the "Deutsches Filmuseum" (German Film Museum) in Frankfurt.
Our aim is a variety combined with quality.
Architecture, fine arts, film and media, music, castles and parks, the young cultural scene, theatre and dance: all sections are represented in the "portal" starting with a specific home page, designed as dynamic as the culture itself. The editorial department is publishing actual news and tips regarding cultural events in short-termed intervals : Sponsoring-, and supporting programs are listed, and award winners are doignified, programs of the current seasons and cultural talks communicated, vernissages, opening nights and festivals announced – always providing inside view, and also into the regions apart from the melting pot of the Rhine-Main-area. Interesting portraits of particular artists, theatres, festivals, cool disco-nights, and locations as well as references of interesting events, culture centres or projects are regulary updated , and complete the colourful spectrum of the cultural landscape of Hesse, pictured in the "Kulturportal".
Carefully selected themes as the history of Hesse, the cultural politics, the social culture, the world cultural-, and nature heritages or the "Hessischer Kultursommer" (Hess cultural summer festival) are constantly present: the so called cultural care. Some short-run cultural events like the »Hessentag«, the »documenta« or the »Interkulturelle Wochen« (intercultural weeks) have a special time-limited platform.
Since November 2007 a monthly "KulturTelegramm" is informing about news in the "Kulturportal", and prominent tips and recommendations of the "KulturBeraterbank", and an enjoyable lottery with nice prizes out of the cultural scene attract the interest of the "Kulurportals´" user.
The cultural calender – dates from Warburg to Viernheim, from Limburg to Bad Hersfeld
The Hesse-wide published cultural calender of the »Kulturportal« is of great interest, informing abot events and activities in the region. It is taking up dates of the »Kulturkurier«, a media of "Data Kulturlink AG", and the dates of the calender of "Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft der soziokulturellen Zentren und Kulturinitiativen in Hessen (LAKS e.V.)". A great daily quantity of events of the cultural branches, and regions is entered into the »Kulturkalender«, and completed by additional dates collected by the editorial staff. The "Kulturkalender" is meanwhile an unique offer in Hesse, and supplements are in progress.
Infothek – cultural encyclopaedia
The »Infothek« with a minimum of one »business card« delivers "backstage", Artists, organisers, theatres, corporations, organisations, archives, libraries and other culture-bearers are introducing themselves. Interested people should request at the editorial departement a simple authorization form to present themselves in the "Kulturportal".
